Season 9: Where To Next?

Happy New Year! May your 2019s be filled rainbows, sunshine, and unicorns. Preferably not the killer kind. (Oh, who are we kidding. Those beasties are dangerous anywhen.)

Once again we’re putting our next season to a vote. Per usual, we at Fableulous Retellings have included previous topics in here, because it’s our hope we actually do get to all of these at some point! That being said, here’s a small preview of what you can expect from each topic:

Don’t Go Into the Woods – A lot of fairy tales tend to take place in the woods, and there’s no denying that the place is truly magical. We’ll be discussing a few fairy tales, fairy tale-inspired stories, and generally, just tales where the forest is not only a major setting, but becomes a certain kind of character on its own right.

The Big, Bad Wolf – There are recurring characters in fairy tales, and one of them (aside from the crazy child-eating witches and shunned evil fairies) is most definitely the big, bad wolf. Whether he’s antagonizing a girl in a red hood, proving a little liar boy wrong, or blowing pig houses down, there’s no denying this beastie has a positively bad rep.

Impossible Tasks – What is it with the fae folk and their really high expectations on humans? But seriously, though, this topic will deal with discussing the types of impossible missions heroes and heroines go through to achieve an impossible dream. Or, you know, to stay alive long enough to overthrow a population or save a loved one, I suppose.

Other – And of course, don’t be afraid to suggest something to us! Who knows, we may use it on a future set of episodes.
